Rome Preaches Intolerance
Here's a surprise. The Vatican has issued a criticism of Canada's legalization of homosexual marriages. The Vatican daily, L'Osservatore Romano, called the legislation a "distortion of God's plan for the family". Get over it. If the members of each of these couples does their best to live a good life that harms no-one else, then surely they will have fulfilled the requirements of any divine plan. You gotta love these people who think they know what the Almighty's plan actually is. You gotta wonder, too, where they get their info. The bible is not reliable as a source of accurate info. Its pages are filled with more contradictions than you could shake a stick at. It was, after all, written by mere men, often centuries after the event they purported to be detailing. Every interpretation of the bible is nothing more or less than someone's personal take on the words and an attempt to decipher the content. If God really wanted humanity to know that s/he exists, not one soul would ever have died in terror and pain, screaming to the deity for help that never came. It's all a guessing game. The real focus of worship should be life - yours, mine, everyone's. The living of a life in such a way as to leave the world a little bit better for its having been lived should be the thrust of every church's teaching, not mumbled imprecations aimed at others who fail to interpret the jumble that is the bible in exactly the same way as they do.

You would think that the institution would be out there championing the celebration of love in all of it's stripes -- but no. You love their way, or no way. For an organization that preaches love and tolerance, they have a lot of hate festering. And what a bunch of hypocrites anyway -- while they preach their hate of homosexuality, they neglect the abuses committed by their very ranks. Catholicism shouldn't throw stones because they'd be pelting themselves. The should start to clean up the house of god before he comes back, because when he does, he won't be the least happy with the mess that was made of the place.
I no more want the Vatican interfering in our country than I would Saudi Arabia's mullahs. They are both cut from the same putrid cloth.
Sorry you are so lost
